Grand Canyon won its sixth straight volleyball match and ninth of its last 10 with a 3-0 victory over Academy of Art at Antelope Gymnasium Friday.
GCU won by set scores of 25-16, 25-18, 31-29.
The Lopes improved to 18-8 overall and 7-6 in the Pacific West Conference. The 18 wins mark the program's most victories since going 18-12 in 2000. The 1999 team went 25-7.
GCU senior Dana Edington (pictured, Peoria, Ariz./Centennial) went over the 1,000 kill mark for her career. She will take 1,001 into Saturday's 2 p.m. Senior Day rematch with the Urban Knights. Edington ranks sixth on the all-time list. She is closing in on fifth place Kim Gabriel (2001-04) with 1,004 and fourth place Mandy Forrest (2000-03) with 1,008.

Grand Canyon University sophomore libero Laurann Durbin (Phoenix, Ariz./Sunnyslope), freshman setter Kristen Preach (pictured, Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier Prep) and freshman outside hitter Erica Ehlo (Spokane, Wash./Lewis and Clark) were named to the Pacific West Conference Top 10 Honor Roll for matches played Oct. 26-Nov. 1.
Durbin led the conference for the week in digs per game (5.67) and total digs (51). She was sixth in aces per game (0.44).
Preach had 96 assists, average 9.6 per game to rank third in the league. She was ninth in aces (0.40).

The wins just keep on comin' for the Grand Canyon University women's volleyball team.
With a 3-1 victory over Notre Dame de Namur at Antelope Gym Saturday, the Antelopes picked up their fifth straight triumph, fourth straight in the Pacific West Conference and eighth win in the last nine tries.
At 17-8, GCU equals its win total from 2006 and is one win away from matching the 2000 season success mark of 18. With four matches left, it is only three wins away from reaching 20 for the first time since 1999 (25-7).
GCU won by set scores of 25-12, 25-20, 20-25, 25-21 on Saturday to improve to 6-6 in the PacWest. The 'Lopes have won eight of their last 10 and are the hottest team in the conference other than first-place Hawai'i Hilo, which clinched the title and automatic NCAA berth earlier this week.
On Saturday, freshman Erica Ehlo (pictured, Spokane, Wash./Lewis and Clark) had 15 kills, 10 digs and three block assists.

Grand Canyon led from start to finish in the first two sets, then came from behind to win the third in a 3-0 shutout of Pacific West Conference foe Notre Dame de Namur at Antelope Gym Friday.
It was the 'Lopes fourth straight win and seventh in their last eight contests. GCU won by set scores of 25-10, 25-16, 25-23. It improved to 16-8 overall and 5-6 in the PacWest. NDNU dropped to 11-18 and 6-7.
Freshman Erica Ehlo (Spokane, Wash./Lewis and Clark) led the GCU attack with 13 kills. Freshman setter Kristen Preach (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier Prep) had 28 assists, eight digs, two service aces and two block assists. Sophomore libero Laurann Durbin (Phoenix, Ariz./Sunnyslope) had 19 digs, three assists and two service aces.
The Antelopes trio of seniors Dana Edington (pictured, Peoria, Ariz./Centennial), Whitney Estes (Gardnerville, Nev./Douglas) and Vicky Bauler (Phoenix, Ariz./Agua Fria) were all very productive. Edington and Estes combined for 15 kills and only two attack errors. Edington had eight kills and a .389 attack average. Estes had seven kills at a .333 clip. Bauler had 10 digs and an assist.

Grand Canyon University finished a season series sweep of nearby Southwestern College with a 3-0 sweep at Antelope Gym Monday.
GCU won 25-17, 25-13, 25-18 and had 15 players contribute stats along the way.
Senior Dana Edington (pictured, Peoria, Ariz./Centennial) led the way with nine kills, three assists, four service aces, five digs and two total blocks. Freshman setter Kristen Preach (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier Prep) had 26 assists, four kills, two service aces, five digs, four block assists and one solo block. Junior Megan Toth (Phoenix, Ariz./Arcadia) and senior Whitney Estes (Gardnerville, Nev./Douglas) each had six kills. Estes had four block assists.
