REDLANDS, Calif. -- Grand Canyon University finished runner-up and broke three school records at the University of Redlands Invitational at Thompson Aquatics Center Saturday.
GCU scored 381.5 points, while Redlands had 570. Pomona-Pitzer was third (256.5) and Chapman (178) was fourth.
Julie Redaway (pictured, Braine L'Alleud, Belgium/Ste Gertrude Nivelles) set a new school mark in the 200 Breaststroke (2:30.51). She finished second in the race.
She also joined Caitilin Hoffman (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert), Alexis Glessner (Mesa, Ariz./Red Mountain/N. Colorado) and Brooke Bellah (Phoenix, Ariz./Christian) in setting a new mark in the 200 Medley Relay (1:55.97).
The 200 Freestyle Relay team of Bellah, Glessner, Karlee Grundeis (Bakersfield, Calif./East Bakersfield) and Riley Smith (Phoenix, Ariz./Christian) broke the school record with a time of 1:42.48.
The medley team won and the freestyle team placed second.

FRESNO, Calif. -- Grand Canyon University's women's swim team broke five school records at the Fresno Pacific Relays/Pentathlon Friday and Saturday.
Senior Alexis Glessner (pictured, Mesa, Ariz./Red Mountain/N. Colorado) set new marks in the 200 Freestyle (1:57.08) and 500 Freestyle (5:13.25). Freshman Julie Redaway (Braine L'Alleud, Belgium/Ste Gertrude Nivelles) broke records in the 50 Breaststroke (31.54) and 100 IM (1:05.11).
Riley Smith (Phoenix, Ariz./Christian), Tori Heron (Glendale, Ariz./Sandra Day O'Connor), Karlee Grundeis (Bakersfield, Calif./East Bakersfield) and Glessner set the record for the 800 relay (7:58.60).
Glessner earned an eighth place finish in the Women's Freestyle Pentathlon.

Grand Canyon University sophomore Caitilin Hoffman (pictured, Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert) and senior Alexis Glessner (Mesa, Ariz./Red Mountain/N. Colorado) were selected to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Preseason All-Conference Team, released Thursday.
Hoffman was the Freshman and Female Swimmer of the Meet at last year's RMAC Championships. She qualified for three events (100 back, 200 back, and 200 IM) at the NCAA Championships, the first-ever GCU representative at the championships.

Grand Canyon University athletics will be featured on local television and radio Thursday.
Athletics Director Keith Baker (pictured) will be a guest on the Pat McMahon Show to air at 9 a.m. on AZTV7/Cable 13. McMahon was voted Phoenix's "Best Local TV Personality" for 2009 by AZCentral.com's Critic's Choice.
At 11:25 a.m. on the weekly "Grand Canyon University Sports Report" on AM-1060 "The Fan", GCU head men's soccer coach Petar Draksin will be welcomed by popular and personable host Kevin McCabe, a Phoenix sports TV and Radio staple for 20 years.
