Grand Canyon outshot Notre Dame de Namur 23-7, but the Argonauts scored the match's lone goal to down the Antelopes 1-0 at GCU Soccer Field Thursday.
GCU (8-9-2, 5-6-2) had seven shots on goal. Seniors Kaylen Jackson (Tucson, Ariz./Amphitheater) and Jessica Schartz (Glendale, Ariz./Paradise Valley) each had three shots on goal. Senior Rea-Ann Fuzy (Mesa, Ariz./Mountain View) had the other.

Grand Canyon University freshman forward Kyle Ciliento (Phoenix, AZ/Pinnacle) and junior forward Kayla Poe (Mesa, AZ/Dobson) have been named Pacific West Conference Men's and Women's Soccer Player of the Week, respectively.
The honors, for games played Oct. 26-Nov. 1, were announced on Monday by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix.
Ciliento scored four goals and added an assist to finish with nine points as the Antelopes posted a 2-1-0 record during the week. He scored twice in a 4-0 home win over Dominican on Nov. 1, tallied an insurance goal and assisted on the game winner in a 3-0 victory at Dixie State on Oct. 30 and scored the lone goal in a 2-1 loss at Hawaii-Hilo on Oct. 26.
Poe led the 'Lopes to a 2-1-0 week by recording four points on two game-winning goals. She scored the game winner in double-overtime to give GCU a 4-3 win at Hawaii Hilo on Oct. 26. She also scored the lone goal in a 1-0 home victory over Dominican on Nov. 1.

Junior Kayla Poe (pictured, Mesa, Ariz./Dobson) scored on a header from freshman Sasha Scott (West Hills, Calif./El Camino Real) assist to give Grand Canyon University a 1-0 victory over Dominican University in a Pacific West Conference contest at GCU Soccer Complex Sunday.
GCU got back to .500 both overall and in the PacWest. The Lopes are 8-8-2 and 5-5-2.
Junior goalkeeper Nicole Fares (Claremont, Calif./Mountain View) earned the shutout victory. She replaced junior Mileena Buchei (Stansbury, Utah/Grantsville), who was injured during pregame warm-ups.

The Dixie State College women's soccer team has to win just two of its final four games at home to capture the Pacific West Conference championship. Tonight, it completed half of that task when it shut out Grand Canyon University, 4-0, in St. George Utah.
The Red Storm raised its record to 12-3 overall, 11-0 in the PaciWest. The Antelopes dropped to 7-8-2, 4-5-2. It was the second time they have lost to Dixie State this season.

Senior forward Aislinn Finfrock (Glendale, AZ/Independance) scored her third goal in as many games to lead the Grand Canyon University women's soccer team to a 4-3 double-overtime win over Hawaii-Hilo today in Hilo, Hawaii.
Finfrock scored two goals in the Antelopes' 4-1 victory over Chaminade last Thursday. Today, she scored the game-tying goal at 79:01 and assisted on the game winner by junior forward Kayla Poe (Mesa, AZ/Dobson) at 114:32, a crossing shot from the right side to the opposite pole.
The 'Lopes also got unassisted goals from senior midfielder/forward Kaylen Jackson (Tucson, AZ/Amphitheater) at 53:52 and senior defender Jessica Schartz (Glendale, AZ/Paradise Valley) at 72:21.
