SANTA ROSA, Calif. -- Grand Canyon placed sixth at the Sonoma State Invitational at Santa Rosa Golf Club Tuesday.
The event, originally scheduled for three rounds, was shortened to two rounds due to rain on Monday.
Chico State won the event with a two-round score of 578 (292-286). GCU finished with a 590 (292-298). Junior Daniel Harrington (pictured, Chandler, Ariz./Dobson/South Mountain CC/Holy Names) and sophomore Richie Kernagis (Mesa, Ariz./Red Mountain/CSU Bakersfield) led GCU. They tied for 13th place with a 2-over-par 146. Harrington (74-72) shot even par Tuesday. Kernagis (72-74) shot even-par on Monday.

SANTA ROSA, Calif. -- Grand Canyon shot a 4-over-par 292 and trail leader Western Washington (289) by three strokes after the first round of the Sonoma State Invitational at Santa Rosa Golf Club Monday.
Because of rain, Monday's play was shortened to one round instead of the usual two. The final round will be played Tuesday.
Sophomore Richie Kernagis (pictured, Mesa, Ariz./Red Mountain/CSU Bakersfield) led GCU with an even-par 72. He is tied for eighth place.

GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Grand Canyon University's men's golf team finished sixth at the GCU Fall Invitational at Golf Club of Estrella Tuesday.
Oklahoma City (863) won the event led by individual champion Julian Valenciana, who shot 8-under par (67-72-69 -- 208).
GCU finished at 892, led by Terence Daniels' (pictured) 24th place finish (77-74-72 -- 223).
Grand Canyon's JV team placed 13th in the 18-team field and were led by Micah Meyer, who placed 27th (76-72-76 -- 224).

GCU in 8th after two rounds of Fall Invitational 
GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Grand Canyon is in eighth place (296-301 -- 597) after two rounds of the GCU Fall Invitational at Golf Club of Estrella Monday. The third and final round will be played Tuesday.
Daniel Harrington (pictured) leads GCU at 4-over-par (72-76 -- 148). He is tied for 20th. Western Washington leads the event with a two-round total of 574 (2-under-par). Oklahoma City's Julian Valenciana (67-72 -- 139) leads the event by three strokes over WWU's Brian Barhanovich. From the GCU JV team, Micah Meyer (76-72- 148) is tied for 20th.
M Golf 9-29-09 BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Grand Canyon placed seventh in the Western Washington University Invitational at Bellingham Golf and Country Club Tuesday. The Lopes third and final round score was 294. Daniel Harrington (Chandler, Ariz./Dobson HS/Holy Names), who was a co-leader going into Tuesday's third round placed eighth with a 1-under-par 215 (70-68-77). Richie Kernagis (Mesa, Ariz./Red Mountain HS/CSU Bakersfield) and Brandon Hill (Avondale, Ariz./Millennium) tied for 15th with 2-over-par 218. FINAL RESULTS
