SANTA ROSA, Calif. -- Led by junior Brittany Anderson (Goodyear, Ariz./Estrella Foothills), Grand Canyon University's women's golf team placed fourth at the Sonoma State Invitational at Santa Rosa Golf Club Tuesday.
Anderson placed 11th with a two-round total of 158 (78-80), 14-over-par.
Three GCU players tied for 16th, including juniors Jennifer Lutz (Mesa, Ariz./Mesa/Mesa CC), Rio Milord (pictured, Delray Beach, Fla./Atlantic Community/Seminole CC) and Jacqueline Sneddon (Meigle, Scotland/Madras College/Elmwood College). Lutz (83-77) had the Antelopes best round of the tournament Tuesday. Both Milord and Sneddon shot 80 for each round.
Junior Amy Cowan (Davis, Calif./Davis/Sierra CC) finished 35th (89-81 -- 170).
GCU had a two-day total of 638 (321-317). Western Washington won the event with a 615 (318-297), led by individual champion Claire Rachor (79-70 -- 149).
