Grand Canyon University freshman Renee Peck (Glendale, Ariz./Sandra Day O'Connor) finished seventh in the GCU Invitational at Thunderbird Paseo Park Saturday.
Peck finished the 6K run with a time of 24:38.6. It was the team's first 6K of the season and three runners topped the program's season-best time from 2008 (28:09).
Mesa Community College won the team event, led by first-place finisher Hailey Hanna (22:41.9).
GCU freshman Joy Hulsey (pictured, Peoria, Ariz./Sunrise Mountain) placed 26th (27:31.4) and sophomore Evelia Stacey (Safford, Ariz./Safford) was 30th (27:54.6).
Junior Arlin Guadian (Phoenix, Ariz./North) placed 33rd (28:15.7), while freshmen Emily Cruz (Surprise, Ariz./Dysart) and Shannon Walsh (Glendale, Ariz./Sandra Day O'Connor) finished 35th and 36th, respectively.
Cruz finished in 29:38.6 and Walsh in 30:04.5.
GCU placed fourth.
