BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Grand Canyon placed seventh in the Western Washington University Invitational at Bellingham Golf and Country Club Tuesday.
The Lopes third and final round score was 294. Daniel Harrington (pictured, Chandler, Ariz./Dobson HS/Holy Names), who was a co-leader going into Tuesday's third round placed eighth with a 1-under-par 215 (70-68-77).
Richie Kernagis (Mesa, Ariz./Red Mountain HS/CSU Bakersfield) and Brandon Hill (Avondale, Ariz./Millennium) tied for 15th with 2-over-par 218.
Kernagis (75-73-70) had the Lopes best third-round score. Hill (74-73-71) improved his scoring each round.
Terence Daniels (Smith's, Bermuda/Desert Mountain) finished with a 222 (71-75-76) and tied for 27th. Bentley Nakasawa (Yuma, Ariz./Catholic/South Mountain CC) finished 53rd (74-75-79 -- 228).
Dixie State won the event with a three-round total of 855. Dixie State's Kyle Chappell beat teammate Cameron Crawford in a playoff to take individual honors. Both finished the 54-hole round at 8-under-par.
GCU will host its fall event Oct. 5-6 at Golf Club of Estrella.
