Grand Canyon pitcher/first baseman Colin Courtland, outfielder John Stanko (pictured, right)and pitcher Jon Weaver (pictured, below left) were selected to play in the Arizona Collegiate Wood Bat League All-Star Game played last week at Arizona State University.
The 14-team league plays games throughout the Phoenix area, including Grand Canyon University.
Courtland (Litchfield Park, AZ/Millennium) was 2-5 on the mound last season for the Lopes and hit .297 with two home runs.
S tanko (Mesa, AZ/Desert Ridge) finished the season as one of GCU's starting outfielders and was one of the team's hottest hitters. He was named to the PacWest Little World Series All-Tournament team and led Lopes players, with 100 at-bats or more, with a .390 average, including five home runs and 21 RBIs.
Weaver (Castle Rock, CO/Regis Jesuit) transferred to GCU last year and was a redshirt.
